This is an old video, but I think it's time for some healthy debate! What's your opinion on the driving of the car filming in this video? He's obviously good, but quite aggressive. Look at the pass just before 1:20, do you think the yellow car knew he was going to stuff in? Did he force him off of an established line? What about the two-off going into the dipper? Should it be said that if you can't stay on the track you should be backing off?

It's pretty typical with these videos that what you actually have isn't a display of great driving as someone cuts cleanly through the field, so much as the field going 'woah, better let that idiot go before he causes a major pileup'.
Obviously it's different with higher-level racing, but typically at this kind of level there's a tacit agreement that you don't push too hard because no-one wants their car damaged. If you get someone who doesn't abide by that, generally they'll be able to bludgeon their way through - but they won't be popular, and may face trouble from the stewards.
This video definitely seems to shade in that direction, but it's nowhere near as bad as some I've seen.

Definitely. I've done a bit of track driving as well as wheel to wheel racing and I would NEVER have gone for 90% of the passes he did. I personally think he was being quite a dick.

At a track day, it'd be means to kick that guy off the track..but at a race, I'd say it was fine.

I'm holding back slightly because he doesn't look like the only one doing that kind of thing, and I'm not sure quite how serious that level of racing is. For all I know that is in fact the kind of racing where that sort of driving's accepted, and the reason some cars seem less aggressive is that it's the last race of the season and they've nothing to gain or lose at that point.

I think purposefully doing something that could easily result in putting another car out of the race is frowned upon in just about all levels of racing, and I think he is stepping dangerously close to that line.

Anything could take a car out of a race though realistically. Have to take risks if you want to be successful in racing. One of the most successful drivers of all time got their by being insanely aggressive on the track -
